DFC Introduces ProWriter 3.0 Proposal Generating Program
Features Include More Powerful Architecture, Ability to Attach External
Files
ACTON, Mass. (May 2003) – Digital Facilities Corporation (DFC)
announced it has released ProWriter 3.0, an easy-to-use proposal writing
and tracking software program that streamlines the preparation of roofing
proposals. Based on the popular Proposal Writer program, ProWriter 3.0
is based on a more powerful architecture that allows the creation of
multiple multi-roof proposals and the use of Microsoft Outlook to create
follow-up tasks and store client information. Another important new feature
is the ability to attach CAD drawings to proposals and highlight roof
features and problems through the use of mark-up tools. Users can also
attach external files such as PDF files and simplify data entry through
the use of SmartLists and SmartText.
“A critical part of a roofing services professional’s job
is producing reports, whether they are inspection reports, maintenance
recommendations, or a sales proposal for a new roof,” said Steven
James, president of DFC. “ProWriter 3.0 allows them to easily and
effectively generate professional proposals that can help their clients
make informed purchasing decisions. In fact, leading roofing manufacturers
have used earlier versions of ProWriter to share electronic specification
information and help their contractors create effective sales proposals.”
New Look and Capabilities
ProWriter 3.0’s new Microsoft Outlook screens make navigation easier
by featuring expanded toolbars and menu options. Other new features include
a ProWriter Wizard that guides users through the steps of creating a
proposal; separate proposal and details folders and databases; and three
photo albums that can be shared with all proposals.
In addition, ProWriter 3.0 users can also streamline data entry through
the use of SmartLists, which are predefined lists of standard entries
(such as terms like “alligatoring” or “wind scouring”).
The SmartLists can be easily edited and customized to meet the user’s
needs, and can be accompanied with SmartText, predefined text for use
in memo fields (such as the definition of “alligatoring”).
A KeyPlan, which is an outline of the building showing individual roof
sections, is also included in the program.
Pricing and Availability
ProWriter 3.0 is priced at $1,495 and is available now from Digital Facilities
Corporation, 905-844-3300 or www.digital-facilities.net.
