NRCA to Obtain Marketing Rights for DFC’s ProWriter
NRCA to Offer Enhanced Proposal Writing Program to Members

Acton, Massachusetts (June 2, 2004) – Digital Facilities Corporation (DFC), the industry’s leading provider of roofing asset management software, and the National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA), a trade association representing more than 4,600 roofing professionals, announced that NRCA will obtain exclusive marketing rights for DFC’s ProWriter, an easy-to-use proposal writing and tracking software program that streamlines the preparation of roofing proposals. Under the terms of the agreement, NRCA will expand the software to incorporate its “RoofWise” energy calculator program, and portions of the NRCA Roofing and Waterproofing Manual.

“NRCA is dedicated to providing its members with the best business tools on the market, and ProWriter is one of those tools,” stated William A. Good, executive vice president of NRCA. “With ProWriter, they can easily, accurately and effectively produce high quality, professional reports such as inspection reports, maintenance recommendations, or sales proposals that can help their clients make educated purchasing decisions.“

Steven James, president of DFC added, “By taking ProWriter and adding enhancements such as ‘RoofWise,” NRCA will be able to offer members the most comprehensive roof proposal generating program available. This is yet another testament to NRCA’s superior technical capabilities.”

ProWriter Features
ProWriter allows the creation of multiple multi-roof proposals and the use of Microsoft Outlook to create follow-up tasks and store client information. ProWriter also allows users to attach CAD drawings to proposals and highlight roof features and problems through the use of mark-up tools. Users can also attach external files such as PDF files and simplify data entry through the use of SmartLists and SmartText, which are predefined lists of standard entries (such as terms like “alligatoring” or “wind scouring”). There is also a ProWriter Wizard that guides users through the steps of creating a proposal; separate proposal and details folders and databases; and three photo albums that can be shared with all proposals.

A KeyPlan, which is an outline of the building showing individual roof sections, is also included in the program.
